Ambrose Consulting

At Ambrose Consulting, we believe transformation is possible when the most impacted communities are centered in the work toward change. We provide tools and frameworks to deepen your learning about structural racism and oppression, to build a healthy work community  and will help you develop strategies that reflect your values for equity and social justice. 

Racial Equity Webinar Series*
Introducing racial equity work into your organization is also making a commitment to being in a community of practice. Our workshop series is designed to invite people to develop a foundational understanding of racial equity work; to strengthen their community engagement approaches; and to deepen their leadership practices. 

We can offer both a generalist approach or tailor each workshop to meet the learning needs of your group, the sector in which you work, and the focus areas guiding your strategies. We recognize that organizations may choose to enter this work from multiple points. These can include internal culture, community relationships, policies, practices and/or programmatic work. We believe deepening an understanding of the collective history of racism is important to developing your understanding of your work and the equity choice points within your spheres of influence, so that your change efforts are holistic, transformative and more deeply aligned with your values for racial equity and social justice.  

*For now, all trainings will be offered online. One to two-day Racial Equity in-person workshops will resume once the COVID-19 global pandemic is contained. We will continue to closely monitor the findings and recommendations of public health experts and will plan accordingly.

Culture Transformation
Often organizations begin with a focus on their external work, their programs and partnerships and relationships with the communities they are in service to.  We believe transforming internal culture is an essential part of building a container that can sustain the long-term work for equity and social justice in all its forms.  We believe in working from the inside out and that the brave work of uprooting the aspects of organizational culture that replicate the systems of oppression are essential to actualize long-term change. Our team integrates arts and culture practices to strengthen relationships and build community and to create a transformational culture of belonging. 

Strategic Assessment: Listening + Learning 

The Listening + Learning process is an opportunity to seek out the perspectives and feedback of your community through a combination of one-one-one interviews and online surveys or Story Circles. We work with your team to identify the critical questions that can deepen your understanding of the gaps between good intentions and real-life impacts. Our team identifies emerging themes and patterns from these collective conversations that then deepen your analysis and inform your next steps. You will receive a summary report of our findings which we will debrief with you and your team. I

Strategic Conversations + Equity Action Planning 
Our team will work with your leadership to build out an equity action plan with an explicit equity lens over the course of a series of 3-hour strategic conversations. Together we will harvest the group’s wisdom and guide you in visioning bold steps for moving forward; develop intentional processes and actionable steps to build that vision; and apply adaptive skills to continue working collectively in the face of ever shifting contexts.
